Set in the Garden’s iconic Limonaia conservatory at golden hour, this one-of-a-kind program will take you on a musical journey across the globe—along the rivers of the Peruvian mountains, across the beaches of New Zealand, through the icy waters of Greenland, and everywhere in between. Featuring music by seven contemporary composers, each piece reflects the distinctive character and beauty of the people and places that inspired it.

The Avanti Flute Choir will present their annual Winter Concert on Saturday, January 10 at 3 p.m. in the Winn Room at Coronado Public Library, featuring works by J. S. Bach, Percy Grainger, Daniel Cueto, F. J. Gossec, some movie music and even a pop medley. Reception to follow.
Daniel Salazar (student at the Universidad Nacional de Musica in Lima, Peru) will perform the third movement of FAGOT PUKLLAY as part of the bassoon class studio recital, led by Prof. Ivan Palomino. Brando Arteaga will accompany him at the piano.

Join composer and flutist Daniel Cueto for practical guidance on creating your own music. Using his flute works as examples, he’ll share key techniques and strategies to develop sketches into finished pieces. Explore the Stages of Creating—defining materials, exploring possibilities, and shaping the work as well as the Stages of Sharing—engraving, workshopping, performing, and publishing. Whether you’re already composing or simply curious, this session will be both informative and inspiring.

The University of Arkansas Department of Music is proud to present Teaching Assistant Professor of Bassoon, Dr. Melanie Ferrabone, in a faculty recital featuring guest pianist Paola Budani, Albanian artist. The concert will showcase the expressive range and artistry of the bassoon in collaboration with piano, offering audiences a rich journey through the classical and contemporary repertoire. The program highlights masterpieces for bassoon and piano from celebrated composers Robert Schumann, Alexandre Tansman, and Camille Saint-Saëns, alongside contemporary composer Robert Mueller. The evening will conclude with a vibrant and rhythmic work by Peruvian composer Daniel Cueto, bringing a fresh Latin American perspective to the recital stage.
