Daniel Cueto (b. 1986) is a composer and flutist from Lima, Peru. His music is reflective of his broad cultural experience, revealing strong ties to both European and South American musical traditions. His works have been performed in fourteen countries, including Germany, France, Spain, the UK, the USA, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil.
Having lived in Germany for the past 14 years, he has fulfilled commissions for such institutions as Deutschlandradio, the Musikschule Bonn, the KHM Köln and the Robert-Schumann University Düsseldorf, and has served as a member of the jury in the 29th Composition Competition of the City of Siegburg.
Daniel Cueto currently teaches music theory, analysis and aural skills at the Detmold University of Music (HfM Detmold) and at the Cologne University of Music and Dance (HfMT Köln). He holds degrees in composition (M.Mus) and music theory (B.Mus) from the latter institution, as well as a degree in flute performance (Diplom) from the Robert-Schumann University Düsseldorf.
